Ok so i'm about to set off for a job interview and i'm in the driveway switch on my pocket pc and navigator is already on so i go to the navigator screen and click "navigate to" but it freezes, but it does this from time to time so i'm not too concerned, i then go to exit application and then try to reopen navigator, but to my horror it says no maps available 8O i try and try but it wont open, i check the settings and the CF card isn't listed, so i thought the card might be dodgy, i turn the unit off take out and re-insert cf card but nothing Twisted Evil i have no time for messing about so i try to find this company myself and manage to be 15 minutes late for the interview :x

After the interview i'm in the car park and notice the reset switch on the back of the unit (ipaq 2210) press it and guess what all maps on and CF card now listed in settings gets me home no problem Embarassed Embarassed

What might have caused this to happen in the first place i hav emade about 20 previous trips without having this issue, the pocket pc should have a propper windows style shutdown like Pc's. Rolling Eyes

My IPAQ does seem to forget the CD card once in a while.
Reinserting or failing that a soft reset usually works.
It doesn't seem related to GPS software as it happens with my MP3 player as well.
Probably happens every three months here.

This happens to me a lot, it seems to only happen after i switch off via the power button or it switches off due to power save.

I have the iPAQ 5550 and the Pocket CP 4 Jacket. with CF card in the jacket.

I will usually have to seperate the jacket from the iPAQ and then reset the iPAQ and plug the jacket back in. If I dont seperate it will come back up but say it has an unknow device attached (The CF)
