TomTom Customer Service Pleasantly Amazed!

After losing my old faithful 720 to a vehicle break in, my company replaced it with a TT Go 1000 Live Europe but a refurb unit! Maps were well out of date 9/2010 and latest maps guarantee did not work! HD Traffic only ran to June 12 not the full year!! I had a month left on my 720's map update service so thought I try to get it transferred to new device! According to T&C's not possible!

Phones TT and spoke to a Becky explained my issue and was put on hold! After about 10 mins she came back, Mr Wall I've transferred your month remaining map service and extended all live services to march 2013, I've registered your device to your account so you have £10 store credit and given you £5 good will credit for your trouble!! What trouble I asked. She said a refurb unit should come as new but for some reason yours did not have the vouchers.

When I got home last night I connected my unit and was offered map Europe v885.4007 first time I've downloaded a map since getting BT Infinity 3gb plus map took just 15mins to download but 1hr to install Laughing Out Loud

Thank you TT my credit will go towards my map update service. Well happy now. Shame about the TT GO 1000 not as good as my 720 but live makes up for some of the cut stuff.

Nice one!
It all goes to show it *is* possible. You just have to catch Customer Services on a good day!

AND... I think this shows that being nice to them helps too!

To be honest I was not expecting to get anything but am still amazed at the outcome! And the go 1000 is growing on me slowly! Google search is very handy and traffic is so worth the £50 per year! Well it is for me (Trucker)
