Hi,

I have installed the safety camera alerts on my XL2, and have been setting up the alert warnings (distance etc).

One thing that has got me stuck is how to activate the downloaded warning voices. The options I have differ from those on the instructions. Instead of having tone options I get a choice of a long spoken warning, short spoken warning, alert tone or a custom typed alert. I also don't get to hear what it sounds like when setting it up and it won't play on demo.

Can anyone advise on how to get it to use the downloaded voices from Pocket GPS?

Thanks
Scott

What instructions are you following? (it looks like the model compatibility chart might have got this wrong!)

Try the ones in "Method 1" half way down this page.
Voice Alerts (TomTom Format) for the PocketGPSWorld Speed Camera Database

If you get options for "long spoken warning" etc. you must have a model that's capable of "Text to speech", so go down to that section.

You need to select the sound effect option and then answer "Yes" to the question about "is this the sound you want to use?" even though you don't hear anything! (That's normal and a limitation of this method on the TomTom).

Alternatively, trye the rather more logical "Method 2" described right at the bottom.

That's great, thanks! Will have to give it a run now.

Thanks again
