tomtom satnav problems

my satnav powers on but just sticks on the starter screen model M43457A01525 TOMTOM GO 520 (4M00.001) tried resetting but no change thanks for any help

First thing to check is to connect the TomTom to a computer and see if it recognises the TomTom as a disk drive.

If it can do that, there's lots we can do.

First thing to try is use Windows Explorer to Make complete copy of EVERYTHING on the TomTom. Store that safely somewhere on your PC. Thaat's your backup which you'll need if you lose anything while trying to get the TT going again.

Next, open the folder on the TT called something like 'Great Britain and Ireland' and delete the file called MapSettings.cfg.
Allow the TomTom to re-start and see if that fixes it.

If the problem still remains, we can reinstall the software package (as in my SECOND link below.
