tomtom car kit 4150...again!!!

OK, sorry about this but the answers have left me a touch confused. I have been looking for the tomtom car kit for the 4150 like many others. Seidio and brodit are a bit over priced etc etc, and the TT kit looks to hit the spot for me. Actually wasnt impressed with some of the things said about Seidio in here and also when I contacted them myself they were not too hot on replies.

Anyway, I was happy to finally see the 4150 kits advertised on the tomtom website but didnt trust to order from them because there were no guarantees of delivery times. Then found one on pcworld.co.uk( Iknow, I know!) but the description was rubbish so didnt trust that I'd get the right one.

Anyway, found one at Stansted airport today for only £42 so bought it and realised it was only a dash mount - no gooseneck or vent clips so I thought sod that! and returned it.

Now having read the forums it seems that purchasing a 1940 kit and reconstructing it is the way to go (or possibly a 2210 kit and adding some padding). Two questions on this though:

1. Is dismantling and reassembling quite easy, does it require simply unscrewing or unclipping and snapping back together or is it at a bit harder than that?

2. How am I supposed to know if I will be ordering the "old" kit with vent clips or the "new" kit without??? I was going to buy from ebuyer but although the description says that it has a multitude of methods for connecting to the car, there is no mention of vent mounts. :|
