I bought a refurbed XL Live IQ with European maps a few weeks back. I'm thinking of using my LMG. My euro map is v840.2562
I seem to remember reading that there are problems fitting updated maps onto it because they're too big fo rits internal memory.
Any tips for how best to use LMG?
Also, I didn't get any activation code with the machine. Should I be going back to the supplier or is LMG automatic after registration with TomTom? |

I'm afraid I don't think refurbished units get the LMG any more.
Was it bought from the TT website or somewhere else?
Did it say you would get an LMG in the advert or description for it?
However you end up getting an updated map for it, you'll be offered a map "zone" to install, covering West, North, Central, South or East Europe. You're entitled to have all the zones, but you'll only be able to install one of them at a time.

It's worth trying to use the LMG. I bought a refurbed 550 from the TomTom website only a couple of months ago, and wasn't expecting to be able to get the LMG. However, when I tried, I was lucky and got an updated map without any difficulties. _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D |

Good idea...
It's riddled with confusion.
For a long time you definitely DID get the LMG with refurbished units bought from TomTom themselves, although if you asked TT customer services about it, they would insist that you DIDN'T.
Whereas... if you bought a refurb from elsewhere, the company would say you DID get it, but in the end you didn't!
But I must admit, I thought they had got their act together and taken it away from all refurbs now. (Stingy so and so's!) _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |
