|
|
Just got the Go1000 but first thing I noticed was that the default colours that TT have chosen for the 'View Map' screen (grey & green) are for me, make it really difficult to differentiate the roads from the background (a little green colour blindness!). The saleman said that it could be changed easily but changing the overall colour scheme doesn't seem to affect the View Map screen at all!
Can anyone tell me how to change the colours in this screen as the device is unusable for me with the default scheme. |

I think that facility is due to come out with NavCore 37 in 2020
Sorry to be flipant it's a serious issue if it can't be changed, hopefully one of the resident experts will have an answer. _________________ Galaxy Note 4 / TomTom GO : CamerAlert : CoPilot |

I suggest if it really is unusable for you, that you go back to the salesman and get him to show you how to change it OR GIVE YOU A REFUND. _________________ Dennis

I think I can help with this one....
Firstly the map colour schemes CAN be changed (Settings page 3 / Map Colours) and you can now add your own colour schemes too (so long as you have the latest software and version of MyTomTom).
But having the wrong map colours is probably not the issue here, if they look OK on the normal driving view....
What's happening is that (for some reason) TomTom decided to use a DIFFERENT colour scheme for when it is showing you the Traffic information; and the "View map" screen often automatically switches over to that view.
If you go to the "View map" screen and tap "Options" at the bottom, you'll probably find "Traffic info." ticked in the "Show on map..." screen that follows.
Try un-ticking that and ticking "POIs" and "Favourites" insted, and then tap "Done". Does your map go back to glorious colour?
Unfortunately you'll find that the stupid software ignores your preferences here and will keep switching back to the Traffic display (and it's naff colour scheme), so you have to keep going back to that options screen quite often. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Wow, thanks Andy. That sorted the problem out and I can now use the damn thing!
Of course, I'm on my 3rd Go in 2 days - all with the 148 SIMM error so I'm now starting to wonder if I should have gone with another manufacturer anyway... |
