Hiya Folks
I just thought I'd let you know about some software created to run on Android phones. It's called 'MM Tracker'. It doesn't come with maps but it does allow you to use your pre-purchased memory map tiles.
There are two versions. The 'free' version is just to test that your device can take them, then the paid version is about 7 UKP or Euros.
I've used it for a off-tarmac weekend in Derbyshire a few weekends back it generated a 2mb track log .gpx file that can be used in Google Earth.
I know this section of the forum is dedicated to Memory Map but there are those like me who have moved from Windows Mobile 6 to Android yet still like the detail provided by MM on WM6.

Just tried MM Tracker on its first walk. Tried the Free version first to check it would work on the HTC Hero. All OK.
The reason for buying it was that sooner or later my PDA (Mio P560) is bound to pack up - hopfully not for a while yet! I would like to be able to use my Memory Map maps on an existing device as the cost of re-mapping for a newer device plus cost of said device is according to my wife not going to happen.
I also use a Garmin GPSmap 60CSx so grid ref, speed and the rest of data is on that. I only used the PDA to display the Ordnance survey map and my position.
The "paid for" version of MM tracker is for under £6 superb. Send the required map(s) to it from Memory map and off you go. It displays your track, speed and compass bearing. The app can be configured to display on screen what you want. The screen does not need to be "left on" thus saving power.
I would recommend Memory Map users with android phones to check it out, try the free version first.
