can anyone advise on how to add the database to my new sat nav. i have followed the video guide and it didn't recognise the database as poi's so stuck now. any help appreciated

The xl2 has the "dumbed down" menu system and reduced features from more "traditional" TomToms...
However, over time, various features have been added back again and various workrounds have been found to get SOME of the other functionality back.

I don't have one in front of me, so can you say first of all whether you have a "Manage POIs" menu, and a "Warn when near POI" menu item?

Another way to get warnings working on devices that don't have the full POI options available is to install all the required files then add a pre-configured "MapSettings.cfg" file, this saves a whole load of messing about with custom menus etc.

There is a pre-configured mapsettings.cfg file available for download in the apple software forum section, its in the PGPSW camera database on TomTom iPhone app.

If you need more help in getting a full set of files together to do this let me know, you will need your own set of camera database files in speed zoned format though - Mike
