I'v got a Nuvi 660TF. Had it for several years, and generally been quite pleased with it. However, the maps are now quite old, so an update looks like a good idea.
Given the cost of map updates, I would also consider updating to something newer with some of the new features offered. I do a have a question though - looking through the specifications of many of the newer Nuvi range, it looks as if many (all?) lack features that I use most.
I use the bluetooth support in the 660. While its not wonderful, it is quite adequate for my needs. I alo use the headphone socket to feed output to my car stereo, and I also use the built-in MP3 player extensively.
Can anyone tell me if there is a unit in the current Nuvi range which gives me the same facilities? Or would I be better looking to another make?

None of the recent nuvis have mp3 players, not sure about other makes but it's something that just seems to have gone away. Neither is a headphone socket in general use anymore, at least not in the Garmin range. |

Thanks for that. I looked at the specs for a number of the newer Nuvis and couldn't find any with MP3 support, or a headphone socket. If I can't find any other makes that do have those sorts of facitilite, I guess I'll update the 660s maps and try to keep it going for as long as possible.
I would happily do without the FM transmitter - the quality using it was never good and it was a pain trying to find a reasonably clear part of the specturm, but the headphone socket and the MP3 player are things I would be very loath to part with.
