The kmh files for pMobile and specs say 'miles per hour' instead of 'kilometers an hour' - the correct speed number is said though...
We'll get these fixed ASAP!

That's wimmin for ya |
Err no... that's my fault!
I edited all the bits of audio together OK, but I made a complete mess of renaming the files from the format you see... "pocketgps_uk_gatso_30.ogg" etc. into the new format required for MaFt's clever automatic download system.
I've hopefully fixed all the kmh/mph errors tonight and sent them back to MaFt for processing.
If anyone has downloaded the "Euro" speedzoned files yet, it will be worth doing another download in a day or so. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

No it doesn't!
These files you will be downloading for the PGPSW speed cameras are named to match the speed cameras files. In that situation you DO NOT follow those TomTom instructions, which say to add warning sounds to the sounds folder. That is the same as our "Method 2" described at the bottom of the old voice download page HERE.
Both methods work, but these new files have been named specifically to use "Method 1".[/url] _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

I connect my TomTom Go Live 1005 (Europe) to the PC, start "My TomTom", go to "add community content" where I have successfully added the POI and BMP files (that all works & the cameras display and warn OK using the [crap] default sounds), I then try to add the same named .OGG file and it says "The content you are trying to install cannot be used with your device. Check that you have the correct file" .
It all worked OK on TT Navigator ver 6 & 7........ |

This is a great idea thank you.
However, sadly, someone fell into the old UK trap of pronouncing "killermeters" instead of "kilOmeters".
There's nothing wrong that a bit more recording and editing wouldn't put right!

NOTE THIS ONLY APPLIES TO THE TOMTOM iPHONE APP
You can download a set of the voice files along with the ov2 files then use DiskAid to embed them in the TomTom iPhone app, see Here For details on how to do this, to get the warnings working though you will require the mapsettings.cfg file from the page I have linked to - Mike |
Many thanks Mike ;-) |

@Eggbox - is it SO bad?
God knows why I'm saying this, but I *do* have a "kilOmeters" sample, and I could redo them all if MaFt is prepared to re-do his end as well.
(I've redone just about everything else at least once!)
Can you confirm if you are happy with the pronunciation of the FEMALE voice, and it is only the male voice that offends you?
If I don't get it done tonight it will not be for a week or so as I'll be busy on other projects. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

I just tried reinstalling them again and it all installed fine on my Go1000 (which is identical to a Go1005 apart from the screen size).
Maybe try a fresh download of everything?
EDIT: It might be relevant that you said Quote: | I then try to add the same named .OGG file.... |
If you have downloaded and installed the "Consolidated" version of the database there will be SIX .ogg files to install, and if you opted for the "Speedzoned" then there will be around THIRTY ONE files to install. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Is there a link to download just the .ogg files . I tried to d/l with iGO .txt s/c files, but no sound files accompanied them, despite being able to select sound files in the drop down . Alternatively, pleas tell me which satnav system uses the .ogg files |

I actually extract all the fixed cameras from Europe and the UK files and consolidate them into another file ("fixed"), likewise all the mobile and all the specs (it made the screen scrolling a lot smoother when I had a PDA based sytstem). I then created an icon for each file, made 3 simple "beep beep" sound files with the same name as the poi & bmp files.
Like I said it all worked OK on the TTN v6 & 7 that I had before....
I also copied one of your official volice files and re-named that to "fixed" but it didn't like that so I tried loading one of your voice files without altering anything with the same result........hmmmmm

The file name is important, the ogg file MUST match the ov2 and bmp file otherwise it simply won't work, if you are concatenating files and renaming them its difficult to picture what you have on the device, did you also configure the warn when near POI option on the device post file installation - Mike |
