Hello,
I took the plunge today and bought my first Garmin Sat Nav today and went for the 3598LTM-D.
My next step is to start loading up the PGPS speed camera updates. Is there anything I should know about how to do this, as I've never used the POI Loader, but having read up on it and watch the video it looks to be straight forward.
Any hints and tips would be appreciated

Cheers

Keith

All I know is at some stage you MUST get the units right as mph instead of km.

Keith

Favourites are easy to add, type in the address and you have an option to save.

Alternatively, you can tap the vehicle icon and it will give you an option to save your current location

I used my 3598LTM-D today for the first time, and was please with the results.
I spent most of last evening download the latest speed camera updates and then using Kremmen CSV to GPX Converter, I loaded them onto the devices with the POI Loader.
I even download one of the free voices from the PGPSW website as well.

However I just have one question - when approaching a speed camera, why does the onscreen banner sometime show as red and then sometimes as grey Question

Cheers

If you are speeding it will be RED - as will the Speedo display in the bottom left turn red. Grey is when you are under the specified speed limit.

You can disable the pre-installed speed cams and install the PGPSW ones (using ASH10 program (see sticky)) as this allows you to set the 10% tolerance which the police use (Garmin's one are set at the actual speed limits).

Thanks BAVC10 for the info - appreciated
I've looked at the sticky for ASH10 program, but there would seem to be some problems with it, looks as if there’s been ongoing from May of this year onwards. So i'm a bit reluctant to downloaded if it’s not working properly.

Cheers

Ash10 prog works well - just not as automated in the past as you now need to do a bit of filerenaming. Nothing too onerous once you select the CM option in the drop down box
