Maps are purchased through the TomTom Home software this does all the transaction activation, download, installation etc.

TomTom Navigator 6 for use on a PDA was the last version I know of to be supplied on DVD and these maps are way out of date, so much so that I wouldn't bother trying to use them - Mike

Yes where on earth did this DVD come from, and did the advert say they were maps that would work on the TomTom hardware models / pnds?

A 4GB card wont work with the One unless its a true SD card (most cards of 4GB capacity are SDHC and these won't work with your hardware). Get a 2GB card and copy the entire contents from your existing card to the new one, make sure that works before you try adding maps from the DVD - Mike

I may be searching for the wrong keywords, but I cannot find any maps on DVD on eBay at the moment.

AFAIK (and I could be wrong) TomTom haven't produced maps on DVD for a very long time, so they may be very old. Does it say what version number they are in any of the cocumentation?

Is it worth establishing how old these maps actually are, at a guess they could be four or five years old and therefore of little use when compared to the modern road layouts.
Pop the disk in the PC and use Windows Explorer to view the contents, can you see any files/ folders? - Mike

Open one of the map folders lets say "France" then look for a file in the France folder called "France.pna" right click this file and select "Open With/ NotePad" what is the version number shown in the text file - Mike

As we thought, I'm afraid....

That text file shows the maps on the DVD are v650 which were released in April-may 2006, so they are over 5 years old.

Current maps are v870 and new ones are released quarterly. As we said, they are now usually only available by download, although occasionally they sell slightly old versions on SD card, but not DVD any more.
