Hi All

I’ve just installed pocket GPS World speed camera database on my Via 120 live “What a pain” all those files one at a time it took ages.

I was wondering would it be possible to group upload the files

After a few misses I've got it cracked, group selection is browser dependent I was using IE9 ( No group select in tomtom)

I have installed Fire Fox and it works fine, I have just group selected 30 Ov2 and loaded them into "Add Comunity Content" in a group.

What a difference.

Good find, but I always use Firefox and this wasn't available when the POI interface first came out, so they must have changed summat.

My one wanted to install another update today.

Not a single detail of what the update was but it takes just over ten minutes.

App 10.200.698576.74 which I think is the same?

Group select seems to work for the 1005 too, using Safari, Firefox or Opera on Snow Leopard.

Simply shift-click the filenames (if they're concurrent) or cmd-click (if they're not) and they get added to the upload area separated by a comma.

I have had 2 updates today.

The last one only just happened about 11pm and only took about 5 minutes.

It maybe something to do with Mapshare?

Coming soon:

Funny voices and Map Share changes and much more.

**EDIT*** Some are saying the TT speed cameras are now fixed???

I don't use them so never knew they were broken!

[quote="Andy_P"]TomTom has just released v10.200 software for the GO 1000 / GO 1005 and some VIA models.

I have just bought a GO1005 with 10.200 and apart from it not being any better at handling the display of my routes than my old PDA (H2210) with v6.75 Maps, it seems very nice - so far!! However - (TT refuses to take any responsibility so far in my communications with them) it can't convert (some of) the UK MPH speed limits and display them in KMH (I'm strange, like that - I prefer Kmh).
My old PDA was spot on but not my 1005
70mph = 113kmh but my 1005 thinks it is 115Kmh
60MPH = 96KMH but my 1005 thinks it is 95 (PDA 96)
50MPH = 81KMH but my 1005 thinks it is 80KMH (PDA 81)
I haven't managed to test any other speed limits yet. TomTom's anwer was to do a Total RESET which sent shivers up my spine from previous experience, but to their credit the RESET worked very well, but it didn't fix the problem.
On my way to work, I have the pleasure, for the next 4 months, of a lane restriction on the A2070 in Ashford which is marked on my 1005 as being on the wrong side of the road - not wrong lane, wrong direction.
How do I fix both these silly faults? All help gratefully received as I'm computer savvy but TT not, even though I have run my old PDA since 2003 with the various upgrades until I got to v6.75 and stagnated there until last month.

I just spent a week in Frejus on the Med with it, and I find it quite annoying having to tell it which Country a particular Town/City is in before it will allow me to navigate there. I didn't have to do that with my old PDA. Two steps forward, one sideways and another a little to the rear. Come on TomTom. You used to be the BEST BY FAR!!! No wonder the finances are not looking healthy.

I can't be sure, but this sounds like you've fallen foul of the speed limit fix. There have been times where the speed limit was shown as "29mph" which apparently was due to them being stored in kph, and then some rounding error caused it to display incorrectly. My hunch is that they will have fixed this by rounding to the nearest 5[whatever]ph when displaying. You'd never see a sign showing 113kph limit, so it makes sense.

You could be right, but it then begs the question why TT went to the trouble of "fixing" the old v6.75 (correct or really much more accurate) conversions. Do you think PcPlod when apprehending me for going over the 115Kmh version of 70mph would believe me that I was doing what my Satnav told me? I might just as well follow it into the nearest river as has reportedly been done before. TTs excuse was that the software works differently in a PDA to a PND - REALLY!!??

As far as "seeing signs" goes, you wouldn't see a 81 or 115khm sign in the UK either. What the Satnav MUST do is post accurate information . If I weren't conversion-savvy, it could lead me or anyone else who didn't know down the wrong route - to a speeding fine for 2 or 3 mph over the limit? NO, but some pedantic Plod could just have a bee in his bonnet that day!!

I guess this is not an issue for Garmin units which are primary an American company who like me still loves imperial units?

BTW how many of you know how many Km per litre your car can do?

But I bet you all know the miles per gallon?

Have we really gone metric?

I've always thought the odd thing is the way the figures are presented "the other way round"...

For imperial it's miles per gallon - i.e. how far can you go for a fixed fuel quantity.

But in metric they usually quote litres per 100km - i.e. how much fuel do you use to go a fixed distance.

Which does the human brain cope with best?
