Just purchased a 2010 Ford S Max Titanium. Can I download the Speed Camera database to the SD card supplied for the in car satnav system and if so which one. Don't have any info on the make of the satnav system, only that the SD card is Bosch . And if I can , can I also add voices, as I have done for my Tom Tom. Any help and advice as to how to do all this if its possible would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

Without more information we can't really tell you if the system you have is compatible, I'm afraid.
It's not possible to buy every sat nav model to test, especially when they are built into a car!
So you'll have to do a bit of research yourself first.
For a starter, do you know if it mentions adding "third-party POIs" or "user POIs" to the unit in any of the documentation? |

Thanks for your response and I appreciate the problems.
I have looked through all the Ford documentation I have and there is no mention of "User POI's" or "Third Party POI's" in any of it although the system does have a range of optional "built in" POI's that I can turn on or off. The only guide as to the system make is the Ford branded SD card that also has the name Robert Bosch Car Multimedia. Not much I am afraid - but hope it helps - it would be so nice and re-assuring to have my speed camera alerts back again !!!!. |

We've just bought a 2011 C-Max, it too has this system.
The card is based on a Bosch CryptNav layout on the card, there is no mention of 3rd party/User POIs sadly however (athough I'm just looking into the system properly now).
There is an info file at the root of the /cryptnav directory on the SD card, it contains:

Worm: sd2-FORD_MFD_SOP_Europa v6
DT-Title: EUR_FORD-MFD

Thanks for your response.
I have to say it all looks a bit too much for my level of understanding to be able to solve anything, but if you do investigate further and find a solution please do let me know how or let me know anyway if its not possible to use the speed camera database and voices. Since my original posting I contacted my Ford Dealer but he wasn't much help and thought it couldn't be done.
Look forward to hearing from you and good luck !!
Regards

HI Peter....
Just a note to suggest that (if you haven't already!) you click on "Watch this topic for replies" at the bottom of this window.
Then you should get an email if there is any further news posted in this thread. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |
