The email was both badly worded AND was only meant to go to people whose device was not on the latest application version.

Interesting. I wonder how they know what version anyone is on? I mean, I have five devices and I'm pretty sure that at least four of them are each on different application versions (GO520, XLLive, GO550 Live, Carminat and Navigator 6). The last three of these are on the latest available for them, but not the latest I see mentioned around and about. Only two of my devices are Live enabled of course. As far as I'm aware, it's Home, or the new all-singing, all-dancing MyTomTom which checks your application version when you connect, so how might that translate into TomTom sending you an email to tell you to update BEFORE you connect?

Maybe it will! If you have the latest application on your XXXXX device and have a sub to HD Traffic you should Rolling Eyes

I have a fully up to date 550 Live with an HD Traffic subscription but I regularly finish up in unreported traffic jams & road works and sit watching my ETA slip further & further away while 'Traffic' remains totally oblivious to my predicament - I thought the new Super Duper HD Traffic update would make all this a thing of the past but alas it's not to be Shocked Rolling Eyes

So reading through all this HD Traffic is not the same for all devices?

I've only just got HD Traffic (iPhone version) after using bog standard traffic on an old windows mobile and it is certainly a revelation to me?

I actually trust the data and the estimated time of arrival when there is traffic is pretty good. I've been sat in a hold up on a couple of occasions not on my phone and I would say within 60 secs give or take a white line appears under me showing the new hold up?

I must've missed that, next time I'm in an unmarked holdup I'll have to get out & have a look for this white line that should appear 'under me' Laughing

Happened again this morning, just got down from the M61 onto the M60 showing all clear, red lights came on as it was 6.45am when the M60/M602/M62 Eccles Interchange backs right up. Sat there for a minute and the magic white line appeared under me Wink . Added 3 mins to the journey time and that is about what it took to get onto the M62 and away.

Laughing Out Loud, unless it is some weird trip I am on

No, I get a white line along my route when HD traffic warnings are in place [550 + 9.058].

Is this what you are referring to? i.e. the arrowed white line indicating a traffic holdup.

I use the australia colour scheme. What I normally get is the route shown in green. When there is traffic I get the centre of the route in white with green edges. I observed this earlier this year when heavy traffic was indicated for Batchworth Hill [Rickmansworth] coming toward me.

This is what I see in traffic on my iPhone with HD Traffic

Obviously the picture on the right shows you are in slow traffic, white road and arrows which move in the direction of the holdup.

So the e-mail from TT I quoted was only intened for users not running the latest app? My 940 has been running 9.058 since about a week after it became available - is there a more recent release?
