Why keep harping on about it when Dave has given you a reasonable answer

Probably best not to insult the moderators.
Without them and the Pocket GPS World team there wouldn't be a forum, therefore there wouldn't be anywhere for you to post your messages, and therefore you would have no messages to edit... 
The ability to edit posts is not kept from members to be deliberately antagonistic, but for security and accessibility reasons.

Why not set a time limit on editing. Say after 60 minutes the editing feature times out.
It has been done on others forums using the same format as these.
As for editing other members posts, that shouldn't be possible, you should only be able to edit posts you have written yourself.
Editing is possible in "Beta" forum, why not elsewhere?? |

Because it's not possible to set a time out in the forum software.
And yes, you can edit other peoples posts, this is due to a forum migration between two forum software packages we used and it will mean some people can edit other people's posts.
Once this is resolved, we'll re-enable it, but not until then.
You can edit posts in the beta forum BECAUSE these are new posts and not posts that have been migrated from our previous forum software. |
