Updating Maps and POIs (740 Go)

If the maps are updated on a 740 are the POIs overwritten. Reason I ask is that I would like to convert my favourites from the mapsettings.cfg file (I've had some issues on my device and I've had to reset mapsettings.cfg) to become POIs but don't want to do that if POIs get overwritten by a map update.

Custom POI files shouldn't get wiped out during a map update but as the process involves the use of TomTom Home I would recommend you take a backup of the ov2 files from your map folder prior to the update.

If the update works as intended then don't worry, if for some reason it goes wrong copy the ov2 files to the new map folder and you will have all your custom POI files intact - Mike
