Purchase the map required using TomTom Home where you have two choices:
France Regional map at £39:95 416MB in size
Western_Europe at £49:95 1979MB in size
In the case of the Western_Europe map I would advise to put it on an SDHC 4GB good quality memory card as this will avoid having to install it in zones, this also includes the UK so it will also update your home map to the latest at th esame time - Mike |

Which map or which Tomtom?
The refurbs don't come with new maps, so you may still have to buy the latest map. Somebody recently mentioned they bought a refurb from Tomtom and the maps were about 2 years old, but after complaining, managed to get a free map update. _________________ GO 620, Tomtom Android EU,

It really depends upon what you expect from the device, your existing Go-520 has the ability to play mp3 files, FM Tx, Bluetooth Audio output, Line out audio connection, handsfree etc.
If you want/ use some of the above then you will struggle with the newer devices, I would suggest you look at This as one possible model as it comes with LMG (unlike the refurb devices even though its the same price) and whilst it can support handsfree for the phone it won't play music and doesn't have the FM Tx - Use the LMG and you will get the latest Europe map which includes UK as well as France to name just two countries included and you get 12 months free Live services, after the free period expires its your choice as to subscribe or not bother as the device is still fully useable as a nav unit without Live services - Mike |

If you're going to France on a day trip, do you really need a TT map of the whole country? |

If it's like the Garmin, northern France should show up in the UK map _________________ David

Not as far as I know but you could always use a far less expensive printed map or plan your itinerary before you go: http://www.viamichelin.co.uk/ |
