I'm sure TT/Tele Atlas must be aware already (ever the optimist! Laughing

) but....

Hi Andy_P, I hope you don't mind but an adjustment to the Dual Carriageway speed limit in your information is needed. Unless publicised otherwise (and it often is!):-

Motorways = 110km/h
Dual Carriageways = 100km/h
Single Carriageways =90km/h
Towns/Urban = 50km/h

had a few emails regarding this actually. not of sure the best way to handle it...

a blanket 'change all spanish, fixed 120 to 110' could work but doesn't take into account tunnel's etc...

maybe wait for individual submissions?! dunno really... thoughts appreciated!

I'd go for blanket change, then see any individual submissions for any you get wrong. It's no terrible thing to have a camera warning at slightly below the correct limit - other way round could be disastrous.

MaFt, I agree with DennisN, change all 120's for 110's.

From what I understand, the Spanish National Speed Limit has been reduced from 120 to 110km/h, so, in theory, anything which was 120km/h last week is now 110km/h.

I'm heading for France & Spain in the next couple of weeks, does the camera database cover these countries & is it legal to use them? I was told you cannot, but maybe that is for laser alerts only?

According to www.dgt.es a new type of Speed Camera is beginning to be rolled out across Spain to catch tourists. Using ANPR technology, if you set off a speed cam and your car is not registered on the Spanish system an alert is sent to local police patrols. If they stop you, you will be given an on the spot fine (multa) in accordance with This document.

Looks like it's going back up to 120km/h.

EDIT - Brief Translation = The Government are not going to extend the (temporary) restriction in speed of 110Km/h beyond 1 July at which time the speed shall return to 120km/h.
