CamerAlert Database - Reaches new heights of accuracy

We like to think that our speed camera database is the most comprehensive available. To that end we go to extreme lengths to capture the locations of every fixed camera in the land.

We recently received a tip off that there was a fixed camera near Windsor that we didn't have and so off we trotted to capture the location.

This camera was difficult to get to, there was a toll to pay but once we had found it, verification was a ball, we went round three times just to be sure. It has now been allocated ID GATSO: 91167

However, the clarity of that image did make me wonder whether the PGPSW team had been making use of the Google streets photo project to accurately confirm map positions Laughing

I should think it would be possible to tap into those images to produce a photo database of all fixed (and possibly even some 'mobile' locations.

But it seems that the Stig is taking one of those cars on a test drive. (look around a bit in Street view)
