So I have to ask similar to what I asked:- Here, do I install over the top, also there should be no need for me to select Unknown sources in applications because the app will [is now Known] be from the Market ? Embarassed

You should be able to install over the top and no, you do not need to have 'Unknown Sources' enabled now that this is an official app.

If you have any issues as a result of using the Beta and cannot install, open a support ticket and we'll clear the record of the previous install.

best thing to do would be to uninstall the beta version of the app and then redownload from the market.

not sure on your subscription status but if you have a subscription then you will be fine. if not then you will forfeit the single free download.

in which case, remove the app fully and reinstall afresh from market. you will need to reconfigure your preferences though.

3.62mb (plus 2-3mb for cached map tiles, settings and database etc)

and yes, it should work fine on sd card. pretty certain at least one of the beta testers did it that way with no issues.

Very good app. Tried it this morning and it works fine. A couple of questions:

I use Car Home as a car dock app whilst driving. When CameraAlert is running and displayed I get the audio warning and a very quick visual message but then no more warnings until the all clear. If I turn on overspeed I get the warning when over the limit plus the big speed graphic on the display. I would also like to see a distance countdown to the camera if possible please and I would also like to control how long the overspeed messages continue for as they seem to continue long past the camera.

Car Home auto starts / stops when a predefined Bluetooth connection pair is made. If CameraAlert could do the same this would be really useful. Any plans for this type of setting? How about when ac power is detected? Both would be very useful for automation.

if you're not over the speed limit then we didn't see it as important enough to keep throwing up pop-ups with the distance remaining. if you're not speeding then there's no need to know 100% where the camera is? The 'all clear' will sound 4 seconds after the camera lcoation has been passed.

you're not the first to suggest this. It is something we will probably look into once initial teething problems are sorted out and the iPhone version is brought up to date with the Android one (doesn't currently have pre-warning sounds or overspeed sounds).

Thanks MaFt for the quick reply. I would find it better if the all clear delay could be configured. As it is, this morning I came out of a 40 limit (With camera at just before it ended) into a 60 zone and for a few seconds it was shouting 40 when it was clearly not needed so was very irritating. Personally I would prefer a 0 delay as even if the warning location isn't absolutely spot on, you'd be close enough to see the camera.

I look forward to seeing the automated options in future releases. It would make this good app "great".

Installed, moved to SD card, linked to PGPSW account and database downloaded. Only minor issue was that I had to force close the app and restart before it stopped telling me the database was out of date. First impressions very good, will now have to find an excuse to go for a drive and see how it integrates with Google navigation :-)
