The current v865 maps DO NOT have the corrected zone.
TT said they heard about it too late Rolling Eyes .

I was promised that it would be put right in the v870 ones.

There was another thread dealing with this, plus I had a further follow up response on 22nd February from TomTom as follows...
Quote:
Dear Dennis,

The reference number for your query is 110206-001046.
Thank you for contacting us. My name is Lauri from Customer Care and I am assisting you with this query.

I have just had an update from the horse's mouth so-to-speak, or our map development team on the subject.

I can tell you that the new London Congestion Charging Zones have not been updated into the new maps. The reason was that the information was only officially released in October. By this time it was far too late to change the data for the current iteration of maps.

However as the following map v870 is going into testing next or the following week, I will be able to confirm with our map development team on whether it will include the new London Congestion Charging Zones and will update you on it as well.

I apologise for the vague responses before.

With Kind Regards

Lauri
The TomTom Customer Care Team

Youn have reminded me to ask her if she can NOW say whether the CC zone is being corrected on the next map v870.

Hello I'm new to the forum and have arrived here via my newly paid for and updated map (v865) which was purchased specifically to get the western extension removal from the toll zones.

I soon discovered that this had not been removed, after much messaging to them here is a cut of TT's latest reply:

'Thank you for your patience. This is Sarah from TomTom Customer Support.

I understand that you want to know when will be the London reproduce in Congestion Zone.

From the New Year the western extension was removed. Roads that are part of the congestion charge zone are classified as toll roads within the map data. Same as for new roads that are being built or existing ones that have changed, the change to the congestion charge zone in UK need to be implemented into the map data itself.

TomTom and its map suppliers rely on local government and other local organizations across the whole of Europe to supply us with the correct, relevant and most up to date information for millions of roads, streets and lanes.

To update the western extension of the UK you need to use the MapShare corrections for the time being to make the corrections on your map.'

...

As far as I'm aware mapshare isn't a tool that can help with this, also the
third party Congestion Charge POI database that I use was last updated in Nov 09 so also of no use.

Very annoyed that no changes have been made thus far, any ideas how long to the next map update (as I also paid for updates)?

Chas

I see you too got a rubbish 'press the button' standard reply, complete with gibberish.

On 7th April I raised the following item...
Quote:
On 22nd February, my question reference 110206-001046, you told me that the next map v870 was going into test "next or the following week" and you would be able to tell me whether the revised Congestion Charging Zone would be corrected in that new map.

Is it?

Here is their reply, dated 12th April...
Quote:
Dear DennisN,

It's Trinley here from TomTom. Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. Unfortunately, I don't have concrete information for you as to whether the revised Congestion Charging Zone will be reflected in the latest edition of the map. I have discussed this with our engineers and they are aware that this is a big issue for customers, they strongly think that the changes zone will be reflected in the new map but as stated I cannot guarantee this for you I'm afraid.

The next map will be released in just under two months time. If this is a crucial aspect for you then perhaps it would be best to contact us further once the new map has been released to ensure that the aforementioned changes are included. Apologies I cannot be more definitive then this.

Do come back to us if you still have any further questions.

The reference number for your query is 110408-002075.

In both "latest edition" and "next map" she is referring to the next map, v870. So at that stage (12th April)...

three and a half months after the changes were implemented on 4th January...

and something like SIX MONTHS after CC London announced they were reverting to the previous boundaries...

AND ..... SIX WEEKS after they told me the next map (v870) would be going into test and therefore they'd know if the changes were incorporated...

they still couldn't tell me if the new CC zone will be reflected in the next map! Grrrr

The reply to you indicates that they STILL don't know if the reduced zone will be in the next map. You don't suppose they might think of asking one of the testers if they've done it?

I promise you, I will NEVER EVER go to a TT organised ****-up in a brewery!! Actually, I would if it was free, but I wouldn't let them arrange my taxi home. Joker

As I said above, I have been promised (off-record) that the changes to the London Congestion Zone will be in the v870 maps.

It should be due out in a couple of weeks.

Should we believe you or the horse's mouth (TomTom Support)? Or the majority of two TT Support people to one of you?

Does anyone have any news on whether the removal of the western extension to the London congestion charge has been reflected in any recent map updates, or will definitely be included in a forthcoming update?
