I had to google to find out it is an Aussie model
I would highly doubt it at this time....
All the Tom 10x models, VIA and the 24x and 25x models (North america) require the web interface of My Home 3. And, at this time there is no functionality to implement either Custom pois or Itinerary Planning. Custom pois are 'supposed' to be available by the end of January and IP by Q2 of 2011.
That said, even the map updating which finally appeared 3 months after release of the unit got pulled because some units were getting bricked in the process with no means of user recovery (since you can't do backups or have access to the file system).
While the specs sound nice on paper for the 1050, I wouldn't go near it now ...... _________________ David |

Why on Earth do they:
1. produce identical models in different countries but give them different model numbers? (The Aussie Go1050 looks just the same as the Go1005 in Europe)
2. Produce a model in one territory which would be hugely popular in other ones too? (such as the "World" edition of this Go1050) |

TomTom screws both the Aussies and the Kiwis regarding prices they charge for their units and maps compared to what you'd pay for the equivalent model in Europe or we would pay in North America.
Throw in the odd addition (like additional maps) and hammer them (again) on price. It's $600 Aussie dollars which, at today's rates, is just about the same in Canadian dollars (or 385 British pounds).
And this is for a non-Live model. _________________ David |

They have to build the Aussie one upside down hence the name change |

...and of course it apparently has an 8 Gb memory! Why, Oh Why, not for the 100x? _________________ Mike R [aka Wyvern46]

The Go 1050 Australia has only Australian maps, no HD traffic,
The Go 1050 World has Aus, NZ, USA and Europe maps, no HD traffic,
The Go Live 1050 (no suffix) on the TT New Zealand web site has Aus, NZ, USA and Europe maps, with HD traffic.
A brilliantly logical naming system. [/b] _________________ Tomtom Go 1005
