This year we have published 50 database updates. That equates to less than 40p per release (at £19.99/yr) or 34p per release (at £16.99/yr).
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
MaFt
PS. If you're interested, the 2 'missing' releases were: 17th Feb (We were at MWC in Barcelona) and 25th Aug (My wedding anniversary, plus I was on holiday!) |

OK, so now go back to each release and tell us the total of "This month nn cameras were added, changed, deleted (not counting purging of mobiles)" - might make a more noticeable figure. Couple of thousand?
I think it's also interesting to know that figure - I once noticed that my database in CamerAlert (on iPhone) had a different total after update, but not greatly different in total from the previous database. I presume that's because say 20 cameras added, 20 changed and 20 deleted would leave an apparent unchanged total, BUT without updating, my database would have 60 errors. _________________ Dennis

I was going to do that but didn't get time. Also, the number of lifetime subs that have been given away. Maybe later in the week

2 things here: your numbers will be different as you get the verifiers stuff thrown in too so even if there were 60 'changes' in the main database there could be 100 less sites in the verifiers files. the 2nd, as you suspect, is changes don't change the number of cameras in the database. a change of speed qualifies for lifetime subs however doesn't 'add' a new camera.

Well, there is usually somewhere between 5 and 10 names in the weekly newsletter, so my guess is 379 new Lifetime Subs given away in 2010. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

There were also 23,826 submissions made in 2010 via the submission map and CamerAlert iPhone app.
Plus all the nonsense I have to put up with from the verifiers (probably about 10-40 per week depending on how busy they've been)

Strewth! And you have to deal with every one of them. It's fortunate that you work from home (and MacD's) and don't stick to a five day week. I shall try not to do nonsense this week.
I've got blue eyes (and not many teeth). _________________ Dennis
