Hi all,

Thought I'd start a new thread about this as it looks like it's a wide spread problem and so far is a little hidden within the 'Go 1000 - not connecting' thread.

Both a GO1000 and a GO1005 used in my business have started rebooting on a regular basis, HD traffic reconnects quickly but if you're just approaching a tricky junction it's a real pain.

Both devices worked flawlessly out of the box but we last connected them to MyTomTom a couple of days ago to get them updated - BIG mistake, I think!

I'll start nagging TomTom tomorrow, suggest everybody else rings them at least once a day, hopefully they'll give it priority.

Having used about 10 different TomTom devices starting with the original bulky GO I would like to add that I really like the Go1005. Yes, you can't tweak it much but hey, how often exactly did I use the Fuel Prices, MP3 player, Itinaries, Buddies - NEVER! To me it was all added 'marketing fluff' that looks good on paper but didn't really add anything to my daily requirements of a SatNav. Likewise, competitor's 3D Houses of Parliament and the London Eye look sexy on an advert but who cares after seeing them a couple of times on their SatNav?

I'm sure that working map, etc updates will arrive soon, until then I'm not going to loose much sleep over it.

Just my own experience, obviously, everybody has their own preferences.

I suppose it could be seen as paranoid to think this rebooting has started just as they are gearing up software for the Via release?

TomTom's main support page on their website confirm this problem as resolved as at 12:30 GMT today

Haven't used the device today, let's hope this is correct.

At the time of this post, TT support says only it is 'investigating with high priority'. Oh, and it is only a 'small number' of devices affected. That's alright then.

Got a call from TomTom tech support today around 2.00pm to say problem is now resolved. Said it was a "Server issue" ????
Anyway mine only rebooted twice this morning but not since then so I'm assuming it's all okay now. All credit to TT support though for calling me.

To be fair, I think it actually had been sorted by the time of your post, it's just the page layout was a bit odd, putting the update above the original text....

{1st post}Wed 08 Dec - A small number of GO LIVE 1000, 1005 and Via LIVE devices may experience unexpected rebooting. We are aware of this and investigating with high priority.
