I have been as specific as I can in my first paragraph. Because it seems to be a 'moovable feast' it's difficult to be more specific.
Now getting the error message 'Unable to POIs.zip from www.Pocketgpsworld.com
Unable to open this internet site........
This is in IE9 beta

Except it's not a "straightforward download" in the typical sense.
I'd always assumed the clever "dynamic" bit is when you've chosen the categories you want and the download is actually prepared and sent.
But the problems a lot of people see are usually BEFORE that - the categories are never displayed.

Not sure how we can be more specific than we have been in the past....
1. You go to the download page...
2. You get the red text saying "Loading POI categories (if this takes more than 1 minute please refresh selected country above)..."
3. But meanwhile the browser status bar is saying "Done" rather than "Waiting for pocketgpsworld.com" or "Transferring data from pocketgpsworld.com".
4. However long you wait, nothing happens.
5. At that point, if you hit "Refresh" you get "Waiting for pocketgpsworld.com" briefly, then the page reloads (saying "Transferring data from pocketgpsworld.com" while it's doing it)
6. Then you EITHER get the categories displayed, OR you get the same red text and nothing happens once again.
7. Following that, you try the various workrounds of i) changing the country, ii) selecting "Download", getting an error message and then going back a page, iii) trying a different browser etc.
These work-rounds may or may not work and there isn't any obvious reason why it differs from time to time.
The only thing I can think to add is that in my experience, if I see the red "Loading POI categories..." text at all, then they never load. If the y are going to load they do it straight away, either on the first page load or after the page refresh.

Thanks Andy. That's far more specific than my first paragraph, and thats exactly what happens to me most of the time. However, as I said above, my latest attempt, when I finally got the list (I don't know how), selected one and hit download, it came up with the error message that I referred to earlier.
