Sat-Nav Wrongly Blamed For Another Driver Blunder

In the latest of a long line of stories, another driver has blamed misguided sat-nav instructions for an error which left him stuck between two houses for three and a half hours.

The blunder, which saw a 40-tonne truck wedged between two houses, occurred in Bristol after the Polish driver was led up a steep lane by a sat-nav 'short cut'. Whilst the cabin of the lorry was able to fit through the gap, the back of the lorry was unable to pass, leaving the cabin protruding on an exposed corner.

Thankfully no major damage was caused, but local residents commenting on the situation explained that it was clear that the truck would be unable to pass through the small gap - challenging the blame which was associated to the sat-nav.

Other stories have seen tourists follow sat-nav directions into the sea, whilst misguided workmen set up scaffolding on the wrong house after following incorrect directions.

Whilst many drivers have become reliant on the directions offered to them by these devices, there is a general consensus that they should only be used to supplement driver knowledge rather than replace it altogether. This means drivers should follow directions with care, relying on their own evaluation of the road more than the instructions offered by the sat-nav.

In an attempt to rectify these problems, the Government held their first sat-nav summit this month to try and find ways to ensure directions and maps are as accurate as possible to reduce the possibility of such blunders.

Grrr… this get’s me so angry!
When someone has an accident through poor driving it’s clearly the drivers fault and not the cars.
Why is this any different?
These idiots are going to ruin it for all us competent Sat Nav users Sad
