Hi,

I'm taking my driving test in a few weeks and I wish to buy a satnav that will allow me to program several circular test routes that the examiner may take me on for practice and familiarisation. I heard that Tomtom have an itinerary planning facility that would allow me to plot routes via google maps (which would be very quick and easy for me to plot the 20 routes on my 27" monitor) and upload to the Tomtom. I was all set to buy a go live 1000 and read that it's full of bugs and no longer supports this feature.

Therefore I'd be grateful if anyone could let me know which are the most recent/high end Tomtoms or Garmins that support such a feature?

Also are there any other features or methods I could use to achieve the same results?

Thanks in advance![img][/img]

Hi and welcome. I've edited the title and moved this to the Begineers GPS Forum. I've also removed the duplicate post in the Garmin forum as it's better to keep all the discussion in one place.

Any of the TomTom "Go" models previous to the Go1000, will support itinerary planning.

Some of the "One" and "XL" models do, but not all.

The "Start" doesn't, AFAIK.

This site works great with TomTom itinerary planning:

And any of the Garmin's that support multi-point routes can use Garmin's own solutions, either MapSource or BaseCamp. In fact BaseCamp (free) allows the use of the map that came with your Garmin, avoiding issues with roads or intersections in an online map not matching up with those same areas on your pnd's map. Of course if you wanted to use TYRE with a Garmin, you could. But no advantage over MapSource or BaseCamp that I can see.

It does, but only if you have customised the menus as described in other places on this forum. Probabaly best to get one that supports it as shipped.
