I travelled down from Northumberland to London yesterday 30/10, using the A1 & then M1.

Whilst moving through the section from East Midlands to Luton (I slept, wife drove) I was woken by a blaspheming wife, cursing the speed camera database as the sat-nav was showing a 4 mph speed warning.

I've checked the current on-line map, and could no find any 4 mph section, and also admit that it's a couple of weeks since my last download, but was my wife hallucinating, and I dreaming, or has the obviously incorrect speed warning been removed?

4 mph Northbound the previous Friday (22/10) night would have been a dream :-)

Previous posts seem to indicate a Garmin unit. Do you have a POI near this location with the number 4 in it's title? Was it definitely a speed camera alert or just a 4 mph proximity alert?

I was using a Garmin Nuvo 660. And no, I don't have any 4* petrol POIs.

As for the type of warning, I can't swear what it was, although due to my wife's reaction to the unit's incessant bonging (her words, not mine) I suspect it was a speed camera alert.

I'll just have to find a reason to drive up the M1, if only to satisfy my wife's growing belief that the Pocket GPS team are conspiring to have her sectioned for acute paranoid persecution complex with hallucinatory episodes. :-)

Run a route demo through the part you know where it happened. You can do this from the comfort of your armchair.

Switch the GPS Simulator ON and then plot the route. You'll be asked if you want a demo (or wrods to that effect). Say Yes and sit back and enjoy!

To save yourself an unnecessary trip out, can you set your Garmin to do a demo route for that section of your journey?

If simulation is as fast as it is on my Navigon, be prepared to record your evening's TV viewing Razz !

Just a thought - are there any variable speed cameras on the M1?

MaFt's reason for asking about 4* petrol is that POI categories containing numbers can be interpreted as proximity alerts - e.g.Q8 petrol - see this thread for info.

The only POIs from PGPSW with '4' in the title are 'Phones 4u' and 'Specialist 4x4'

Unless you have some POIs from other sites?
