|
|
I have upgraded my mobile phone (monthly contract from O2) to a Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 but I can't get it to fully connect with my TT Go 500.
The message I get from the TT screen is
"This phone does not report wireless data connection (DUN) capabilities. Tom Tom PLUS services cannot be used with this phone"
I can make voice calls via the TT and connect to the internet with the phone but I need the wireless data connection to download traffic information.
Does anyone one know a solution to this problem ? |

Is your phone running Windows Mobile 6 or 6,5? if so there is a way to add the Bluetooth DUN profile to the device, without it you will never get it to support a data connection for the TomTom. I can send you the CAB installer file if you want but it only works with WM6 and WM6,5 - Mike |

I don't think it is running Windows Mobile 6 or 6,5
within it's myriad of 'settings' I have enabled "allow phone to send and receive data" but to no avail |

Having checked your phone is running Android not Windows Mobile so AFAIK there isn't a way to add the DUN profile to it, without the DUN profile the TomTom won't be able to use the phone for a data connection - Mike |

Does that mean that NO Android-based phone can be used for data connection with a TomTom? |

Fur kit !!!!
I spoke to O2 today and arranged to return it, and exchange it for a different handset that will be compatible.
Have to go to their local shop though and take the TT with me to ensure it will pair fully. |

I'm hoping to get the Desire HD....as all I want to run on it is my straight forward TT7 as I am so used to TT after many years....(no traffic info etc.etc.) will this work OK ?
I also run CP8 as an alternative, but I understand that this will be no problem to run ? |
