|
|
Hi
My dad's been using his TT One (3rd Ed) fine with the PGPS database for a couple of years. Last week he splashed out on a new map (UK&Republic.of.Ireland v8.55). Since then the PGPS poi's aren't listed?
The files for the consolidated DB are in the map folder, I've tried deleting them and re-copied but still no PGPS poi's.
BTW the new map works fine - what on earth am I doing wrong?
tia

When you install a new map the MapSettings.cfg files is relpaced in the map folder. That files holds all of your Favorites and POI settings. So if you have a Explorer backup, you can try using the old file, which usually works most times. If not you will have to re-input all of the camera settinga again.
If you connect via your pc, not Home and use Explorer to view the map folder, rename the MapSettings.cfg to MapSettings.cfg.new then paste in a copy of your Explorer backup if you have one. As I said, if that does not work you will have to remove the one you coppied in and then rename the other one back to MapSettings.cfg
Let us know how you get on. |

When you say you cannot see them, is this just on the map or are you unable to see them in 'Warn when near' set-up also? _________________ Darren Griffin |

They don't show on the 'Warn when near' list or on the map.
Thanks

You say the files are correct in the map folder
To show them on the map you would need to select them all in Change Preferences/ Show POI on map,
....but if they aren't in the "warn when near" set-up list, then they probably aren't in the "show POI on map" list either.
So what are the exact file names of all the files with names beginning "PocketGPS...." in th map folder?
Do you only have ONE named map folder?
I don't think a ONE 3rd edition has an SD card slot, but in case I've got it wrong (or we've mixed the names up), does he have an SD card with a map on and another map on internal memory? |

Hi Andy,
That's so, they don't show in the "show POI on map" list either.
The Pocket GPS files located in the map folder are:
pocketgps_uk_gatso.bmp
pocketgps_uk_gatso.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_X2.bmp
pocketgps_uk_mobile.bmp
pocketgps_uk_mobile.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_X2.bmp
pocketgps_uk_pmobile.bmp
pocketgps_uk_pmobile.ov2
pocketgps_uk_redlight.bmp
pocketgps_uk_redlight.ov2
pocketgps_uk_redlight_X2.bmp
pocketgps_uk_specs.bmp
pocketgps_uk_specs.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs_X2.bmp
There is only one map folder it's in the root of the flash drive and named: 'United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland'
As you say, TT One v3 doesn't have an SD card slot, just 1gb internal mem.
Thanks

Hmmm....
Everything looks right then! I'm a bit stumped.
Have you tried adding a completely different POI file? You could try downloading and adding one from the free POIs on this site (that's done in the same way as the cameras) or try adding one using TT Home.
I'm not quite sure how this will help yet , but it will be interesting to see if a different POI does work. |
