ipaq / tomtom 3 connectivity probs

Hi Evryone,
I wonder if you can help. I very recently purchased the ipaq 2210 and tomtom 3 kit from pcworld. Having setup and activated evrything as instructed I am failing to get a reliable GPS signal. There is a solid green light on the wired 'diamond shaped' receiver. No flashing dots between the pda and satellite on the GPS screen.
I have waited for at least 45mins and still no good. I have the GPS set up on serial cable on com1. I have tried all sorts including setting the receiver up on the roof temporarily and also driving around, but to no avail.........

No scrolling dots and no time and date (even if it's wrong) means you either have a configuration or hardware problem.

Firstly, if you have installed a driver for an external keyboard, disable it. Your settings should be TomTom Navigator GPS, COM1: and you must have external power applied to the cigarette lighter adapter.

If that doesn't get you at least as far as scrolling dots, then the chances are that you have a hardware fault.
