Hi All,
I've had my 1340T for a few weeks now, and I'm very pleased with it. love the traffic feature too.
However, I'm currently travelling a bit for work and find that there is NO coverage on the M6 North between junction 11A (M6Toll) and Junction 21 (Warrington Thelwall Viaduct) - that's well over an hour's driving.
Does anyone else have problems in this area?
Does anyone else know of any other Traffic Deserts in the UK.
I don't have that problem. I travel from Rochdale to Bracknell a lot and once I have a signal, it generally stays OK. I do find that I get no traffic info around the Bracknell area and when I leave Bracknell, it takes around 30 mins to get an initial signal.
I have a Garmin 550 with traffic and a TomTom 730T. Both act the same.

Sometimes if you place your unit (and therefore aerial) near the centre of the car, the signal is much more difficult to pick up than if its near the side windows - especially if you have athermic windscreens it appears
My experience anyway _________________ TomTom Go Live 6100, 600

Well, I don't think I have an athermic windscreen - it's a VW Tiguan.
Yes - I do place the Garmin in the centre of the windscreen, and I run the wire aerial across the bottom of the windscreen on the passenger side.
One thing I've noticed.........
If, when the Garmin loses contact with Traffic (icon goes from green to grey), I unplug the cigar lighter plug and wait for it to be recognised by the unit....... Then plug the cigar lighter back in ......... the Garmin will resync to the Traffic signal and keep the signal (or at least keep a green icon!)
I guess all I've done is reboot the Traffic receiver.
