Tom TOm Urban Rider - first impressions

I thought I'd share my first experiences here on my acquisition of the TT UR which I bought to replace my TTR2.

Overall, a week plus in I can say I'm impressed. I had some initial issues pairing, but that was my fault, not reading the instructions on my Schuberth SRC (Cardo G4 equivalent). Everything else was fine.

Likes:

1. Better Bluetooth integration than TTR2. The TTR2 announcements would only come over half way through. The UR, you get a beep and pretty much all of the announcemnt.

2. Faster response. All processing is a lot quicker. In busy situations, the UR "keeps up" where the TR always seemed to be behind the pace. This also applies to route replanning. If you move off route, the re-plan is done within a very few seconds.

3. Winding Roads planning option. This so far has come up with brilliant routing for motorcycling. Love it.

4. HOME Integration. Onetime map update, speed cameras, etc are all much quicker.

Dislikes:

1. Zoned European map. WOuld mean taking a laptop with me to change route on a longer trip
2. Loss of data connection facility for "On line" traffic info. This is only a theoretical dislike, as in practice I always found it to be off the pace...
