loading uk maps

Ive just taken the step of buying Mapopolis.Ive downloaded the uk map zip file and extracted it to an SD card.When I try to select all the maps I get an overload message and when I browse the maps some are indeed not selected.
If I cant select all the maps how can I navigate from say,an address in Surrey to one in Yorkshire if I have no prior knowledge of the UK?
