Hi
As a trucker I have downloaded the low bridge file, the icons are all showing good old feet & inches, problem is that as i drive around i keep on coming across bridges that are only signed in metric.

I have been surfin the net to no avail for a set of metric poi`s that i can use.

any help from the good folks out there would be greatly appreciated.

Strange, I believe that they must sign them in both metric and Imperial in England. See Here

Maybe you are talking about continental bridges as well?? One of the places to check (but you'll need Google Translate!) is gpspassion - I've had a quick look with no success so far Confused , I have to say, but you may want still want to have a look.

Until (if!) you find a metric version, I can only suggest you make a note of your truck's height restriction in both feet and metres. If you are desperate, you could also just take the POI feet measurements, add one foot (two if there are any extra inches in the measurement), then add 1 foot for every 4, and finally divide by 3 as a rough guide to the metric equivalent. You may miss some bridges you COULD have got through but you shouldn't hit ( Rolling Eyes ) many that are too low. (hope someone has a simpler solution?)

Hope that's a little help anyway.

you could always just design some new icons showing both the metric and imperial heights.

cheers guys,

will have a go at designing new icons, with my lamps they will need to be enormous haha 22x22 I believe.

Is MS Paint a good enough programme to use?

I`ll use the existing ov2 files but will have to make some more ogg warning files in metric.

http://www.research.att.com/~ttsweb/tts/index.php has always worked for me

then run both the good old imperial (if it don`t come in gallons it don`t come at all) and metric sets at the same time with something like a 100yd difference in warning so that they don`t both go off together.

thanks for your research and assistance.

if and when I get them up and running will forward to PGPS
