|
|
Thinking of changing from One XL to GO630.
Anyone know if they have the same mount (i.e. on the back of the satnav)?
(In other words, will the GO630 fit onto the One XL mount on my Brodit car vent panel?!)
Many thanks in advance... |

According to this page on the US site, the mounts appear compatible. _________________ David |

I don't see it like that...
The link took me to the UK site, but if I manually switched to the US site here are some pictures of the various mounts.
Standard mount for the Go630:
Accessory Easyport mount for Go630:
Standard mount for the original ONE XL:
If you want to look for yourself, there are pictures of "what's in the box" for all current and previous models, as well as pictures of the optional accessories.
Standard Easyport mount for the newer "XL" models:

But that doesn't mention the GO630.
Interestingly, if I click on the 'GO630' link on the left, it shows a rotating image of the GO630, whose reverse side looks completely different from the One XL rear!
So I conclude that the two mounts are much different.
But I will try checking in a local store here in the UK...
Many thanks! |

You could attach one of These to your existing Brodit Pro-Clip but the 630 will NOT fit any XL/ One XL style mount as it uses a different shape (see the first two pictures in the post above by Andy_P as these are the type of mount the x20/ x30 uses including the 630) - Mike |

Yes, that looks a possibility - though a bit of an overkill (too many things in the package!).
It *looks* as though I would be able to replace the One XL mount from the Brodit fitting and screw this mount in its place.
Many thanks! |

The link I provided was at the USA site and was gotten to by looking at the accessories for the 630. With the EasyMount item, click on 'more information' and then 'functionality' and that's where the reference to the one xl was.
Whether the information is accurate, that's another story. But if you do follow the 630 accessories link, you do get to it. _________________ David |

The TT site is sneaky and the same link takes you to a different page depending on your location (set by a browser cookie?).
If *I* click on your link I end up at the UK site and as the 630 isn't available in the UK and doesn't have an accessories page, it defaults back to the generic page where you enter a model number.
But we *can* change our location in the box at the top right of the page to US, then come back here and click the link again. This time it *will* take you to the right page that DHN was intending.
....And sure enough, it looks like there is another "typo" on the TomTom site in the description for the 630 mount. |
