Version 9 software for other devices does not put an x40 into full standby. Sometimes clearing a route and putting the unit into flight mode will help. I believe some hackers have a work around for this issue but you could run the risk of bricking your device.
As far as I know there are specific versions of maps that have the additional truck information in them but I have nver tried them. _________________ Drivelux

You can buy TomTom Truck software and maps on an SD card from here for £164.49. It says it's compatible with the x20/x30 ranges, but it doesn't mention the x40. _________________ Anita
