TomTom 940 (etc) screen freeze

I have just had one of these as a replacement for my 930T.

2 weeks old now and have a couple of problems.

Unit switched off and reboots then does not find me for 5 to 10 mins then carries on with route.

Freezes and drops the GPS signal and then simply does not find it again or does and then drops it again after 2 or 3 seconds.

Yesterday on the M1 coming back past Luton it lost the signal 5 mins later it found it and I was in Liverpool for the next 10 mins then lost it again. Connected ok to the live services to renew subscription but no satelite signal. Go home and car was parked on the drive and 10 mins later it found me again.

Tom Tom want the reboot etc.

Are all these units this bad?

That sounds as if you've a particularly bad unit - I'd get it returned ASAP.
