See here.

If there wasn't a video to prove it I'd suspect the Sun was sensationalising it but nope.

How can a HGV driver NOT notice that? I've got a HGV licence and I can't believe you wouldn't notice/feel that!

More from the BBC here.

Accident happened in Jan and at the time Police dealt with as a damage only TA as both vehicles were on hard shoulder when they arrived.

The company who own the truck are investigating as are Police.

One question is why Police dealt so lightly with this, surely the car driver must have mentioned being pushed down the Motorway at speed?

If they didn't then why not, if they did the the police need to ask why they never dealt with this by process.

Could be the clip is out of context 44ton does take a good while to stop the would have been doing 52-54 mph not 60. As claimed must be slow news day it may not be the truck driver that caused it in the first place

No-one is suggesting it was the HGV driver who caused it but that clip did not look like a truck under heavy braking?

I'm amazed at how smoothly the car seems to be moving. I would have thought the tyres would be poring out smoke.

The video is deceptive. As the camera car drives onto the slip road it is tracking the lorry/car at similar speed, then slows so the lorry/car appear to continue at unabated speed even though the lorry's brake lights are on.
It's also raining so stopping distance is greater.

In an update to the story

Quote:
In a bid to release her vehicle, she said she pulled on the handbrake and flashed her hazard lights to try to catch the driver's attention, as well as that of other road users, but she said it took the lorry driver nearly a minute to notice her.

Shocked

If it was April 1, I'd be a bit suspicious - strangely, there seem to be no other vehicles on this carriageway in the photos/video (apart from the photographer, of course). But then with so many worthy witnesses such as the police, not to mention the B B C, it MUST be genuine!Cool

HOW LUCKY was she to be pushed so gently and carefully, when most people take an early exit pass in these motorway lorry/car encounters!! Rolling Eyes
