I have had my TomTom IQ XL Routes Edition for almost a year now and I have noticed that the sucker that holds the GPS to the window no longer really works.

It always now, with or without the GPS attached to it. The glass is dry and when I first stick it down, it seems to attach well, but 2 minutes later it just falls off.

Should I just contact TomTom about this or is there a trick to get it to stick again?

There are a myriad of tips'n'tricks and old wives tales but I'd suggest you just contact TomTom. They will likely send you a new one.

Hi, you were right, I contacted them and they seemed more than happy to replace it. Cheers for the help Smile

Alex,

I had this problem and got a replacement from TT but this also falls off, although not with the frequency of the first one.

I have found, however, that its position on the screen has an effect - certainly for mine. If I put mine too close to the RH side of my screen (I place mine to my RHS not in the middle of the screen) it falls off more frequently and I suspect that it is to do with the slight curve on my windscreen at the sides.

If I move it a couple of inches further in it regularly stays on.

Have a closer look at your screen to see if you are placing the mount on a curved area.
