I could understand if you'd lost the voice control functions with a new map, as the files for the speech recognition are stored in the map folder.
But the Text to Speech voices are completely separate.

Do you have either Kate or Simon (the two UK TTS voices) available if you look in Change Preferences / Voice Preferences / Change voice? (or Change Preferences / Change voice on some models). If you have, make sure one of them is selected.

Also, if you have a model with the Voice Preferences menu, look in Change Preferences / Voice Preferences / Speech Preferences too, and check you have all the correct boxes ticked.

Well, I must admit I've never heard of a 'Daniel' or 'Emily' voice for the TomTom!
A search for them in 'Home' doesn't find any Emily's for download either and the only Daniel is a Swedish non-TTS voice.

However the standard 'Kate' and @Simon' UK English TTS voices *are* available to download using TomTom's "Home" utility.

Any idea which TTS voice you were using before you lost it? (and I'm intrigued to know where Daniel and Emily came from too!)

One thought is the voice files are Vocalizer rather than Loquendo, no idea why if this is a 740 though, can you have a look at the device using Windows Explorer and if there is a LoquendoTTS folder whats in it, or look for a vocalizer folder and delete it - Mike
