I use my iphone 4 with TomTom western Europe, on a daily basis at work, so now have a large number of Favourites. Question, is there a way of backing up these favourites, just in case there was ever a need to reinstall the TomTom App or for any other reason they may get wiped and I end up losing all my favourites.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, Merry Christmas to you all.
Cheers

You can use DiskAid or PhoneAid to copy th emapsettings.cfg file from the iPhone without needing to JailBreak it. The mapsettings.cfg file is where the device stores favourites/ recent destinations etc but each time a new app is released the file seems to change which wipes out the file.

I would consider creating a POI file in the normal TomTom ov2 format and load that to the unit as each version released and all the other TomTom products can read the ov2 file. Once you have the ov2 file created put it on the iPhone using DiskAid/ PhoneAid - Mike

Thanks for the reply Mike, sounds a bit complex for me though. It's a shame TomTom don't have a save favourites option like Navigon have.

Cheers

Just create your own ov2 POI file using POIEdit or even easier with Tyre, then copy this to your iPhone TomTom app map folder - Mike
