RDS-TMC problems?

If you plug in an RDS receiver the GPRS traffic service will not be used, the device will use the RDS service by default, disconnect the receiver and you can go back to using GPRS traffic assuming you have a valid subscription.

As to which is best, RDS is OK when you can get a signal lock, the UK is plagued with poor reception due to low transmission power, when you do get a signal the data is often 30 minutes out relative to true conditions, GPRS traffic is slightly better although you have to pay to use it, the best option is the HD Traffic available on the Live equipped devices. Remember though no Traffic service will be 100%, use the other freely available information from the road side gantrys (on the motorways) and even the radio at times - Mike
