CoPilot Live - Live Friends Not Working After Upgrade

Since upgrading to Vn 8.0.0.664 on my HTC Touch Diamond 2 the Live friends function refuses to work at all. Everything else works fine and the live friends sends the link OK. However, clicking on the link just shows my position in Prague and states that 'this person hasn't connected to live link' Obviously wrong as live weather and live search work OK. So far, despite a couple of support mails, no response from ALK. Anyone els hit this problem?
