From the x40 range ONLY the 940 offers the mp3 player support but to use the Line Out connection for feeding audio to your stereo you will need one of the accessory mounts as the mount supplied only has a charger socket fitted. Forget the x50 devices as none of them support mp3 at all.

I would also consider an x20/ x30 device unless you really want the Live services with the associated subscription charges.

With any of the above device you also need to factor in to the price a large capacity memory card (Micro SD/ SDHC for the 940 or SD/ SDHC for the x20/ x30) any of the devices can support up to and including 32GB card capacity - Mike
