I think you best be careful with that. TomTom's O/S is linux based. As such, it uses file extensions that Windows misinterprets. There are vital files ending in .chk which must NOT be deleted but which Windows misinterprets as 'recovered file fragments'.

No, I didn't quite mean that!

I'm aware that there are already files ending in .chk on the internal drive which should not be deleted and show up in windows explorer as "recovered file fragments".

I meant if you were to bring up a command prompt and run chkdsk on the internal drive, that after running clear-flash you will probably find an error.

chkdsk in this instance will prompt to recover the file system error and creates (if I remember correctly) a FOUND.000 directory with a new recovered file in it (I think the size was 16384 bytes).
