CP Live 8....US/Canada Maps

I've been quite happy with TT for years, but the current Navigator V7 doesn't seem to support, (or I can't see where to purchase, US/Canada maps.) Rather than go back to TT6 with all the maps I really need and have, I decided to purchase CP8, UK, and paid extra for the US/Canada maps.....so far so good, but I'm still trying to get my head around CP8. There is one thing though that really bugs me.
Is there a way,(without turning the master sound off on my Touch HD as I still want to receive phone calls,) of turning off the infuriating guidance voice, BUT, all I want to hear is 'ding dongs' for the warning cameras, nothing else whatsoever, including her 'warning..safety camera ahead.'I would even like to get rid of the 'Welcome to copilot' introduction if I could![/b]
Any ideas please ?

Backup first!

I haven't tried this but...

Make a copy of your preferred voice file - \Storage Card\COPILOT\SPEECH\EN-GB\JANE

Delete or edit the sound files as required. Note that 'attention, safety camera' & 'welcome to CoPilot' are in this file.

Thanks for that..I assume that all the sound files are OGG ? So, can I just delete the lot ? To 'fool' the system, all I want to do is select, say, Jane, but zip her up entirely !

I've deleted the 'welcome to CoPilot' file without any problems, so I assume that deleting the others won't have any adverse effects. BUT, make a copy of the directory first - even if all goes well you may want the sounds back at some time.

Yes, they are OGG files but there's also a 'version.dat' file which the App may need.

Thanks..deleted all the annoying files (for me) and seems to have done the trick. Tell me, is the road you're following always Green...(On top of the chosen scheme.) ? And I have to say that 3D, compared to TT, is more like 2D..not an awful lot of difference IMHO.
I shall find out this weekend if Lane Assist works...only on Motorway ?
