That's correct. For example, on the Garmin eTrex at the equivalent of the Active10's Route Card screen you can scroll through the sequence of WayPoints, select the one you are interested in, and then press a "GoTo" softkey. This results in the map display showing an updated route with a vector going directly from your current position to the selected WayPoint. Once you arrive there navigation of the remainder of the original route continues as normal.
This has the merit of not requiring any deletion/editing of WPs from your original route.

Seems like a good idea. It ought to be straightforward to enhance the action of the Route Card's "Go To" button so that it designates the start of whichever leg is highlighted to be the new GoTo location, and the location which you return to on the Planning Screen.
